What is shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a bodywork technique developed in Japan with many basic organ theories and mind/body concepts that remain very similar to its roots in traditional Chinese medicine.

Treat Yourself

I offer treatments in my peaceful studio where you will be greeted by pleasant essential oil aroma therapy, soft healing light and gentle background music.

Our Bodies Need to Re-establish Harmony

Each treatment is tailored to your specific needs. I invite you to picture yourself lying in supine position (on your back) on the organic cotton futon, head supported by a pillow and your knees raised with a bolster to ease tension on the low back...
Various techniques of stretching, holding pressure with thumb, palm, elbow, knee or foot, and rhythm help to rebalancing the body energies and restore a sense of well-being, support the emotions and alleviate many ailments. The stretches can improve circulation of blood, lymph, as well as improve flexibility and posture.
Often I may include techniques from various other therapies I have learned, including: cranio sacral therapy, reflexology, spinal release and touch for health kinesiology.

At the end of a session you will receive time to recollect while you enjoy a cup of fresh herbal tea.

Each session is between 60 to 90 minutes in length. Treatment is usually done over an extended period of time, often once per week for several weeks. However benefits can be received from even one session.
